Не мы такие, жизнь такая.
During a cold night of 26 November 1946 four young men (Alfred Szymański, Rudolf Szymański, Władysław Burławski and Franciszek Rybczyński) hijacked a Po-2 plane (registration number SP-AFH) from the nearby airfield and tried to escape to the West. They were involved in the AK underground during the war which explains why they’ve taken such suicidal risk. After a short flight, they’ve crashed in mountains between Poland and Czechoslovakia. They were buried at the site of their death. Remains of the plane wreckage are still seen around. Grave lanterns indicate that local folks did not forget them.
